Why September 17 Should Be in Your Diary

Network Rail is preparing the tender for up to £4bn of the £47bn total CP6 (Control Period 6) funding which has been allocated to infrastructure work.

The deal is split between Network Rail’s Western route and one of its Wales lines suggesting an expected duration of three years with the potential to extend to a five-year contract based on performance. This project will see the use of two new versions of the Infrastructure Conditions of Contract (ICC) delivered by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE).

Commercial Project Manager, Stephen Blakely commented that “these new contracts have been released as they will build an even stronger environment of consistency and trust with our suppliers.”

The Hunt for Contractors

Officially, the hunt for contractors has begun with September 17 bookmarked as the date in which Network Rail will host their supplier engagement event. All interested firms are advised to e-mail christopher.james@networkrail.co.uk

Contract award is scheduled for October 2019 with early expression of interest required by the end of September. Funding is said to be distributed into six lots — two in the Western region and four in Wales.

Another Important Date

As the CP6 (Control Period 6) funding continues to progress and shape the next five years in rail, we urge industry professionals involved in this huge conglomerate project to attend our CP6 Launch on March 14, 2019.

Our networking events are designed to create successful business partnerships through relevant discussion and experience. This event will act as the industry’s leading introduction to CP6 which is set to be the biggest spending framework so far.
